Known for his distinctive visual style, extreme designs, and multi layered narratives, the creator of Aeon Flux, is a virtuoso of his craft. A director whose work spans decades and has left a singular mark on the animation industry.
For this program he sits down for a deep dive into his craft, his artistic philosophy, and filmmaking methods. The conversation will be followed by a screening of selected works by Peter.

Peter Chung
Peter Chung is a writer, designer and director who has worked for Disney, Bakshi, Warner Brothers, Universal, Marvel, Nickelodeon and Dreamworks. In 1990, he created the animated adult drama series, MTV’s Aeon Flux. In 2010, he directed Cartoon Network’s CG feature Firebreather, for which he won the Emmy for individual achievement in character design. Chung’s other directing credits include The Animatrix, The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury, Tomb Raider Revisioned as well as commercials for Levi’s, Pepsi, Nike, AT&T, Honda, Jaguar and Blizzard. He currently teaches at USC and is active in the Hollywood animation industry.
